What kind of websites do you design?

We design brochure websites, CMS content managed websites so that our clients can update them easily on their own, e-commerce websites and dynamic database driven websites, directories and portals. Is it a full service?

Yes, very much so. Our comprehensive custom website design services can include writing the copy, sourcing/taking/art directing the photography, making illustrations, diagrams, animations, videos etc.

Can I deal directly with the website designers?

Yes, when you deal with us you can speak directly to the people who are working on your project, whether they are writing the copy, designing the content or programming its functionality. We have dedicated project managers too and speaking to them is often the best way.

Will my website integrate with my back office systems?

We build websites that integrate with specialist business functions and back office systems including order processing and stock control. These can be made to work in tandem and synchronise with EPOS, warehouse and accounts back office systems.

Is your website design SEO Search engine friendly?

We build search engine friendly websites as a matter of course. We can advise you how to get your site ranked higher in search engine results by using current SEO and social networking best practice and suggest companies that specialise in this service.

What about ongoing SEO to really build my business?

A great idea. We’re on page 1 for our services so it means that our experts really know what they are talking about. Ongoing SEO is a powerful tool to build a business and is absolutely essential in many cases. You’ll need to sign a contract for at least 6 months work because it’s a process that takes time to build. Talk to the team to find out more about this powerful addition to your marketing efforts.

Can you help with social networking?

We can help you devise strategies that you can use yourself to build the profile of your site in relevant online communities. We can set you up on Twitter with a feed back to your home page and build branded linked pages for you in Facebook and in Linked In for you to interact with like minds.

What about internet marketing?

We build email marketing campaigns including e-mailers, email surveys and online questionnaires. Do you offer CMS content management systems?

We can include any level of content management into your website from simple ‘latest news’ or marketing promotion panels to fully fledged, all singing all dancing solutions. We offer bespoke CMS, in-house developed packages as well as open source solutions like WordPress CMS and Expression Engine.

I only need a simple site…

The vast majority of websites we build are ‘brochure’ sites for businesses and organisations that are not trying to sell anything online. Brochure sites can have a variety of objectives including marketing, information, advice, lobbying, communication within a community, discussion forum and so on. This does not mean that brochure sites should not be exciting, topical and creative.

How can I get it planned out and organised?

We carefully analyse jobs in order to cost them and so we need enough knowledge of the project to assess how long it will take us and what resources we need to complete it. We are keen on tight project management so you can expect to see a chart showing milestones for you, us, and sub contractors along with payment stages along with a schematic representation of the site to show how it all joins together.

When do I see the first visuals?

After the vital planning and costing stuff we don our smocks and easels and make a right old mess being creative with string and glue to produce stunning visuals for the home page and for any other important parts of the site. Once these have been approved we make the master artwork and then our developers turn it into code that makes it all work on the web.

How can I view work in progress?

Work in progress can be monitored by logging into a secure area on one of our web servers using your own password. We also use Goto Meeting which enables you to see the designer’s screen while you talk on the phone.

Will my site always display properly?

One of the final stages of the build process is to test the new site on all the popular web browsers and operating systems. We only build responsive websites because these days most people will browse your site on a mobile phone or tablet.

Do I get site statistics?

As a matter of course we include Google Analytics. It’s free and it tells you day by day not only how many visitors you have had but also which pages they visited and in what order, how long they stayed, where they were when they left and a whole lot more. It tells you where they came from, what search engines directed them and which words and phrases they typed in to the search engines. And if you use Pay Per Click or Adwords you can set goals in Google Analytics to analyse the effectiveness of your marketing spend.

Can I change the contents of my website?

Search engines favour sites where the content is regularly changed and updated. Increasingly the sites we build have at least one or two sections that clients manage themselves. Latest news and current job vacancies are obvious areas to use a simple content management system (CMS) without the risk of tampering with carefully designed editorial pages. It’s worth spending a little time, at least once a month, ensuring your news really is news and not old hat.
